Intelligent and Responsible Growth for the City of Belvedere
Belvedere Residents for Intelligent Growth (BRIG) is a volunteer group of over 550 members and growing. We feel strongly about intelligent and responsible growth as well as community involvement in the planning process. We are all for progress…but progress that makes sense in adding housing. The environment, public safety, and the needs and concerns of all must be considered.
We strongly believe that keeping all residents informed with timely and accurate information is the best way for citizens to actively and constructively engage in a major project like Mallard Pointe.
What is the Mallard Pointe Project?
Mallard Pointe is a proposed residential development project that would, if approved, demolish current housing units located at #1–22 Mallard Road and construct 40 new housing units. Of these 40 units, only 4 would be “legally affordable.”
How will this project impact existing residents of Mallard Road?
The demolition of the existing 22 duplex units would displace all current renters, leaving many seniors, single adults, and young families without a place to live. The overall project would adversely impact the environment, public safety, traffic, parking, noise, light, views, the Belvedere Lagoon, and our Community Park.
